Overview
The Varicella vaccine protects children and adults from Chickenpox, a highly contagious viral infection. Our nurse visits your home to administer the vaccine safely, keeping your family protected without a clinic visit.
Who Should Book This
- Children aged 12 to 15 months (first dose)
- Children aged 4 to 6 years (second dose)
- Adolescents and adults without prior chickenpox infection or vaccination
- Healthcare workers and teachers without immunity
Who Should Avoid
- Pregnant women (live vaccine, must not be given during pregnancy)
- Severely immunocompromised individuals
- Persons with known allergy to gelatin or neomycin
- Individuals who have received blood products recently (consult doctor for timing)
- Those with moderate to severe acute illness
Precautions & Preparation
- Inform the nurse if the individual is pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Avoid pregnancy for at least one month after vaccination
- Carry immunisation records and prior health history
- Inform the nurse about any allergies to neomycin or gelatin
- Mild rash or fever after vaccination is normal; consult a doctor if symptoms are severe
