Who Should Book This
- Infants as per the recommended immunisation schedule (typically at 6, 10, and 14 weeks)
- Babies advised hexavalent vaccine by their paediatrician
- Children completing their primary immunisation series
Who Should Avoid
- Infants with known hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine
- Children with progressive neurological disorders (consult doctor)
- Infants with high fever or acute illness at the time of vaccination
- Children with prior severe reaction to any DTP or combination vaccine
Precautions & Preparation
- Keep the baby's immunisation card and previous vaccination records ready
- Ensure the baby is not unwell or feverish on the day of visit
- Inform the nurse of any prior reactions to vaccines
- Keep a mild analgesic/antipyretic available as advised by your paediatrician
- Monitor the baby for redness or swelling at the injection site after administration
