Overview
The MMR vaccine protects children and adults against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella in a single injection. Our trained nurse visits your home to administer this essential vaccine safely and on schedule.
Who Should Book This
- Children aged 12 to 15 months (first dose)
- Children aged 4 to 6 years (second dose)
- Unvaccinated adolescents and adults
- Women of childbearing age who are not pregnant and lack immunity
Who Should Avoid
- Pregnant women (MMR is a live vaccine and must be avoided during pregnancy)
- Individuals with known severe allergy to neomycin or gelatin
- Severely immunocompromised individuals (consult doctor)
- Persons who have received blood products recently (consult doctor for timing)
- Those currently having moderate to severe illness with fever
Precautions & Preparation
- Inform the nurse if the individual is pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Carry the child's immunisation card and previous health records
- Inform the nurse about any allergies to neomycin or gelatin
- Avoid pregnancy for at least one month after receiving MMR
- Monitor the child for mild rash or low-grade fever after vaccination, which is normal
